MEET JOE

Joseph “Joe” Watson is a highly experienced law enforcement professional with over 33 years of service. Joe served for 25 years with the Alexandria Virginia Police Department, retiring as a Special Operations Sergeant. He also served as a Captain and Chief Deputy of Operations for the Culpeper County Sheriff’s office from 2008 to 2012. During his time in law enforcement, Joe gained extensive experience in a range of areas, including criminal investigations, patrol operations, and SWAT operations.

After retiring from law enforcement, Joe founded SpecOPs Solutions LLC, a consulting company providing services to law enforcement, emergency management, and security providers, as well as licensed private investigations. With his vast knowledge and expertise in law enforcement, Joe has become a trusted advisor and consultant to many agencies.

Joe is a US Marine Corp veteran, and he is committed to serving his community. He has lived in Culpeper County since 2003 and resides in Richardsville. Joe is an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and his love for the outdoors has led him to serve as the former president of Waterfowl USA. He is also the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick’s church, with over 485 active members.

As a father of 2 and grandfather of 2, Joe understands the importance of creating a safe and secure environment for families. He is engaged to his fiance, Karen, and is passionate about making a positive impact on the community where they live.

With his extensive experience and proven track record in law enforcement, Joe has “The Right Experience” to be Culpeper County’s next Sheriff. He is committed to working closely with the community and regional sheriffs to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents. Joe’s dedication, leadership, and passion for public service make him the ideal candidate for the role of Sheriff.
