Joseph “Joe” Watson is a former Captain and Chief Deputy of Operations for the Culpeper County Sheriff’s office where he served from 2008 to 2012. He has 33 years of experience in law enforcement, including serving for 25 years with the Alexandria Virginia Police Department, retiring as a Special Operations Sergeant. Joe is currently the founder and owner of SpecOPs Solutions LLC, providing consulting services to law enforcement, emergency management, and security providers, as well as licensed private investigations.

He is a US Marine Corp veteran, father of 2, and has 2 grandchildren. Joe is engaged to his fiance, Karen, and has lived in Culpeper County since 2003. He is an avid outdoorsman and hunter and the former president of Waterfowl USA. Joe is also the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick’s church, with over 485 active members. With his extensive experience and proven track record in law enforcement, Joe has “The Right Experience” to be Culpeper County’s next Sheriff.
